Terms of Use

BakePup is licensed, not sold, to you for use only under these Terms. Unless we provide a custom license agreement, your license to use BakePup is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), which is incorporated into these Terms by reference:

These Terms supplement the Standard EULA. If there is a direct conflict between these Terms and the Standard EULA regarding the licensed application, the Standard EULA governs to the extent of that conflict. You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Easy Carb only, not Apple, and that Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and the Standard EULA and may enforce them against you.

BakePup is rated 4+ in the App Store and is intended for hobbyist home bakers. You must have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement in your jurisdiction. If you are a minor, you may use BakePup only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

BakePup provisions an anonymous identity on your device — no email, password, or phone number is required. You are responsible for the device you use BakePup on. Because accounts are tied to the device and are anonymous, data may not be recoverable if you lose access to the device.

BakePup Premium is sold as an auto-renewable subscription through the Apple App Store. We currently offer two plans:

• Yearly — $29.99/year, with a 7-day free trial. The trial gives you full Premium access for 7 days. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts automatically to a paid yearly subscription at $29.99.
• Monthly — $5.99/month, no free trial. Billing begins at purchase.

Prices are shown in the app at the time of purchase and are stated here as of the “Last updated” date. Apple may present prices in your local currency, and prices may vary by region or change over time.

Auto-renewal

• Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period (yearly or monthly) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the then-current price for your plan.

Managing or canceling

You manage and cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account, not inside BakePup: on your device, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions (or App Store account → Subscriptions), select BakePup, and cancel. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

Free-trial forfeiture

If you purchase a subscription while a free trial is still running, any unused portion of that free trial is forfeited at the time of purchase, as required by Apple.

• All purchases are billed by Apple, and all refunds are managed by Apple in accordance with Apple’s policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.
• To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
• Canceling a subscription stops future renewals but does not automatically refund the period you are currently in.
• Nothing in this section limits any statutory refund or withdrawal rights you may have under the consumer-protection laws of your country (including the EU/EEA right of withdrawal); those rights are preserved.

BakePup uses third-party AI providers, Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini), to analyze the photos you submit and to power Doughy chat, as described in our Privacy Policy. AI outputs are best-effort suggestions, not professional baking, food-safety, or medical advice. Do not rely on BakePup for fermentation timing or safety in situations where food safety is critical (for example, allergens or immunocompromised diners). Always trust your own senses and good kitchen hygiene over the AI.

• Do not upload photos of other people without their consent, content that is unlawful or sexually explicit, or content intended to harass.
• Do not reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or abuse the Service or its backend, and do not use it to send spam or generate prohibited content.
• Do not use the Service in violation of any applicable law or these Terms.

You retain ownership of the photos and notes you submit. By using BakePup, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, and transmit your content solely to deliver the features described in the Service (AI analysis, storage of your journal notes and text, and chat context). Your journal, starter, and bake photos stay on your device and are not uploaded to us. You are responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have the rights to submit it.

The BakePup name, the Doughy mascot, the app design, the recipes we author, and the source code are owned by Easy Carb and protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the license to use the app granted to you here and under the Standard EULA, no rights are granted to you.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Easy Carb disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Easy Carb’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you, and nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to other users, the Service, or us. You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your data from within the app.

We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Easy Carb’s place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country where you live, which continue to apply.
